Women who have very large breasts know that the excess weight can cause ailments such as back pain and posture problems. This can result in pain and discomfort, not to mention bring unwanted attention to the chest area. A breast reduction, also called a reduction mammoplasty, helps to create a more proportional balance between a woman’s breasts and the rest of her body.
With this procedure, Dr. MacPhee removes some of the excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breast area to reshape and reduce the size of the breasts, often repositioning and reshaping the nipple as well. A breast reduction makes the breast not only smaller, but firm and lighter, relieving physical discomfort and giving the patient renewed confidence.
Dr. MacPhee also performs breast reduction for men, called gynecomastia surgery.
