Dr. MacPhee has been performing gender reassignment procedures since 2005 and is grateful for the ability to help patients transition to the bodies that align with who they truly are.
With a limited number of skilled transgender surgeons in the U.S., sex reassignment surgery can be difficult to obtain. Following the Standards of Care set forth by WPATH, Dr. MacPhee offers an array of procedures for both trans women (MTF) and trans men (FTM) – including FTM top surgery and MTF breast augmentation, vaginoplasty, tracheal shave, forehead bossing and other facial feminization treatments. She continues to train and develop her transgender surgery practice, staying abreast of new procedures and surgical advancements as they unfold.
Her focus and dedication to this area of practice is what draws transgender patients from across the country. They choose Dr. MacPhee not only for her skill, compassion and understanding, but also for the environment in which she practices. The City of Durham is highly supportive of LGBT issues, and Dr. MacPhee performs surgeries at Duke Regional Hospital, a recognized Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality. Here, patients feel at ease knowing there is no judgment and the facilities at Duke are world-renowned. Dr. MacPhee also offers a private recovery residence for patients traveling to Durham from out of state.
