Chin enhancements are designed to reconstruct or rejuvenate the contours of the chin and jawline. Procedures may involve the reduction or addition of mass to the patient’s chin.
A genioplasty, or augmentation of the chin, adds volume to a weak or receding chin, creating a more prominent profile. The procedure is done by making a small incision inside the lower mouth or in the natural crease below the chin and implanting a synthetic material that feels like normal bone tissue.
A mentoplasty, or chin reduction, can be done to reduce and reshape an overly prominent chin for a more natural appearance.
This is one of many procedures Dr. MacPhee performs for MtF and FtM transgender patients.
